I was shopping around for a shower mirror today, and Amazon reviews seemed to be pretty helpful in judging the different options. It was one of those cases, where a product would receive either a hands-down or hands-up review from multiple customers – it got either foggy, or resisted fog, in the shower room.

I noticed that Amazon is experimenting with the product wikis on their site. The products, which do not have much of description from the manufacturer or retailer, can be described by the customers.
Moreover, the experiment has been going on for a while, as the list of most-edited wikis shows 1,551 wikis at the time of writing. As it is usual with wiki projects, it didn’t take that long for consumers to drag the whole thing into a political fight, and the most active wikis include James Frey’s A Million little Pieces, Steven D. Levitt’s and Stephen J. Dubner’s Freakonomics and Dan Brown’s The DaVinci Code.
