Blood Diamond is a pretty strong movie depicting the everyday realities of Ivory Coast with its diamond-trading business and one meaningless war after another, when yet another militant group mixes the words “united”, “national”, “freedom” and others to produce yet another acronym conveying the reasons for mass killings of civilians. Surprisingly strong role for Leonardo Di Caprio, similar to Nicholas Cage’s one in Lord of War, but with focus on the diamond business.
