More on Hurricane John

It’s pretty windy outside and we’re told to stay inside the hotel rooms or the lobby. The flights are almost impossible to get from – San Cabos airport is closed, La Paz is not served by Alaska Airlines, even though the Web site says it does, and the rep suggested we take a rental car and drive 6 hours to Loretto, which is the nearest airport served by Alaska in mainland Mexico. Which we probably won’t do, since none of us have any Spanish skills, the lines to the gas stations are 20-30 cars long, and generally we’d have no clue where to go once in the city.

I keep checking the Yahoo! News full coverage for Mexico, and apparently John is subsiding, and moving away from the peninsula. If Los Cabos is safe, they might move us out of the shelter resort back to the vacation destination.
