PDF writer from Microsoft

Antitrust suit threat notwithstanding, Microsoft released an Office plug-in to convert Office documents to PDF or XPS (which is Microsoft’s competitive format to PDF). Meanwhile, Open Document Foundation plans to distribute the OpenDocument plug-in for Microsoft Office only to the users who opt-in to install Google Pack on their systems. Users, who do not wish to install Google Pack should be charged “arm and leg”, according to OpenDocument Foundation, as reported by ZDNet UK.

And if you’re looking for a free fast PDF reader (although anything will seem fast by Adobe Acrobat Reader standards), try Foxit, a nifty quick PDF reader.

  1. Should’ve mentioned that this useful plug-in is only available for MS Office 2007 and not for any other versions…

  2. Ah, yeah, typical of them. As a home OpenOffice user, I never even bothered to download.
