Power is back in La Paz

Associated Press picture from Los CabosWhen we woke up, there was no power – the hurricane passed La Paz at night, leaving the state capital without power. There was no running water, either, due to some hotel precautions. At night the hurricane passed through, terrible wind outside, and occasional noise from some debri hitting the roof and the walls. The palm trees have some branches broken this morning, the ocean is dark and wavy, the sky is gloomy and there’s pouring rain consistently, but at least the electricity is back up.

The big question right now is when the Los Cabos airport opens up (they’re having a meeting about this at 1 pm, we’re told), and how many people would want to fly out, and whether the airlines will be adding any additional flights.

Good luck there! I hope the worst is over at least.
