Top music stores compared

DesignTechnica compares the leading online music stores. With the variety of services available they only concentrated on several top ones. Conclusion?

If you simply want to download music from the charts, then Yahoo and Wal-Mart are your cheapest options. For your MP3 player, there are several options, with Yahoo the best of all. If you’re an iPod owner… then you’re stuck with iTunes.

I’ve been a Yahoo! music subscriber since it went live. I’m very happy with the service – especially when you consider you can basically listen to entire a pretty extensive music catalog for the price as 5 songs from iTunes.

I listen primarily to a lot of non-mainstream electronic/dance/industrial music and Yahoo! is constantly adding new music to its selection.

Their recommendation/rating system works very well too, letting you setup friends with similar tastes as Influencers, making them in turn Followers.
