The freshly re-priced iPod Shuffle did not work out of the box. The green light was on and stayed on for as long as continuous or shuffled playback mode was selected. The laptop, however, recognized the unit as working iPod Shuffle, and loaded the music onto it without a hitch. Thanks to Drew for the restoring factory settings tip, which finally made things right. However, it looked like updating the firmware on the unit, would not do the job, restoring and scaling back to factory settings would. Kudos to Apple, however, for making the firmware updater the easiest I’ve seen.
